Meet the Teacher – Wednesday 12th July

We have organised an informal meet and greet session at school to enable you to meet your child’s new class teacher. This is very informal and will be more of a Q&A session. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and look through pupils’ books so you can see the topics studied and skills developed throughout the year. There will also be a range of literature available, specific to the year group. If you are unable to make it, please email me any questions and I will pass them on to the class teacher. All literature will be made available on the website under the ‘Helping Your Child Learn’ menu.

Summer Extravaganza – Friday 7th July

We look forward to an evening of Victoria talent on Friday evening. Fingers crossed the weather will be good. If it is raining we will obviously have to cancel the event. Adults to pay £2 at the door. There is no charge for children or pupils of the school. Please come through the pupil entrance on the junior site.

We kindly ask that you do not bring alcohol or glass bottles to this event. There will be a bar for people wishing to buy an alcoholic drink, served in plastic glasses.

Please feel free to bring along a picnic and a rug/chairs. There will also be refreshment stalls and a BBQ. The PTA have also organised a family quiz and other entertainment to keep younger children occupied.

The children are welcome to wear their own clothes for the extravaganza unless they have been specifically asked to wear a costume. For example, the children in year 5 are dressing up as workhouse children as they are singing songs from Oliver. We do not want parents buying costumes – there is really no need. We have lots of costumes in school. Please ask the class teacher if you are unsure.

We expect all children to attend this event. If your child is unable to attend, please inform the class teacher.

Thank you.

Suggestions for Active Travel Route Improvements

We would like to say a big thank you to Gwen Thomas, our Active Journeys Champion. She visited school last week and took a walk around the locality to assess the safety of our local roads for safe, active travel. Please take a minute to read her report and suggestions. Hopefully, Wrexham Council and Safer Routes will consider Gwen’s advice and continue to make our locality a safer place for our pupils and parents.
